Blood Pressure:  AM:  144/98    PM:   138/97

This is the first time in weeks that I have felt a small tingle of pleasure at seeing my blood pressure reading.   And this afternoon, I had my BP taken by our school doctor and it read 140/80.  The numbers still aren’t so good but they’re definitely much better than the 150+/100+ I’ve been having the past month!  Definitely a good sign!  I’m also continuing my relaxed, positive attitude.  I’m happy to say that my feathers did not get ruffled at all today despite a couple of complaints from my assistant regarding another employee.  The book I’m currently reading, Bringing Yoga to Life  by Donna Farhi is also helping me a lot in changing my outlook for the better.  I recommend that you read it if you’re looking to find yourself and find peace and balance in your life.   I’m not getting enough sleep, though.  I have to do something about that…

Since I am counting this journey in terms of steps, I have decided that I should make my goal more specific.  After all, we learned in business school that goals should be SMARTSpecific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic (some have it as Relevant), Time-bound (or Timely).  So…here we go:

My Goal

In 365 days, it is my aim:

  1.  To lower my blood pressure to 130/90 (120/80 is even better!) through lifestyle modifications that would be a combination of safe, doctor-recommended & approved, and natural ways.

  2. To seek alternative and more conservative treatments and lifestyle changes (in lieu of invasive surgery) for my cervical spine condition and my Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.

  3. To achieve balance in life.

As I go along this journey and as I evaluate my results, I am sure I will need to adjust this goal now and then.  Maybe, I might even have to re-define it.  As of now, though, this is my SMART goal.

Why don’t  you share you goal/s with us?  Make it SMART!  🙂
